Matted Hair is Not Going Any Where- It has been here since the beginning of Hair Brushing. Dematting and detangling are not publicity devices or eye-catching novelties.
Many hair stylists in the America and internationally have had to deal with some level of hair detangling. Some minor tangles have been conquered in the salon effortlessly. While deep matted tangles have been abandoned for the client to go home an tackle.
Hairdressers face tangled matted hair, talk- discuss -pontificating on how to fix it; but they do not finish it. The client returns home depressed in the same situation or even worse off.
At Hair Detangler School, we know that without focus, we cannot free our clients from the frustration of matted tangled hard dreadlock knots- stuck to the scalp and painfully pulling on the roots of the hair.

Medical professionals have known about this disorder of the hair. The medical term for matted hair is Plica Neuropathica, also known as Plica Polonica. It's also sometimes called bird's nest hair, Trichoma, or felting.
Medically matted hair is classified as such.:
Symptoms:
Hair that's twisted and tangled together in a stiff mass
Hair that's irreversibly matted
Causes:
Underlying health conditions: Psychiatric illnesses, parasitic infestations, or scalp infections can cause plica neuropathica
Medications: Chemotherapy drugs like docetaxel can cause plica neuropathica
Friction: Shampooing or rubbing hair can create an electrostatic charge that causes hair to mat
